Hamilton Heights is a neighborhood in the northern part of Manhattan in New York City.

Hamilton Heights was named after one of our founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton. When the first settlers arrived in this area, it was used for farmland and then developed into residences at some point during the 19th century. The Subway started becoming more widespread around that time too which made development happen faster. Now people could easily access all parts of town without having any problem getting around on foot or by car.
Hamilton Heights runs from 135th to 155th streets along the Henry Hudson Parkway.

At present, Hamilton Heights High School houses close to 800 students in grades 9-12.
Hamilton is a great community to grow up in. This small college town has plenty of nice restaurants and things for the family to do, with lots going on all around town.

The most rural place in New York is Hamilton County, northwest of Saratoga Springs. The entire 1,717 square miles are considered to be outside city limits and only one small town exists there.

Hamilton Heights has been incorporated as the Village of Hamilton 200 years ago in 1816.
