Roosevelt Island is an island in New York City’s East River, within the borough of Manhattan. It lies between Manhattan Island to the west, and the borough of Queens, on Long Island, to the east.

Roosevelt Island can be accessed through the Roosevelt Island Bridge, which can be found at 36th Avenue and Vernon Boulevard in Queens.
If you’re looking for a quick and scenic way across the river, this tram might be just what your eyes need. It will take only 3-5 minutes on average to get from one bank of NYC’s waterways to the other side.
The Roosevelt Island Red Bus is a great way to get around the island. The route has stops at both local subway stations and Tramlines, giving you easy access no matter where in town your destination may be! There’s also an option for getting on board if Q102 isn’t convenient – it’ll take passengers right into downtown Manhattan as well so that anyone can enjoy their trip without worrying about how far they have left until the arrival time.
The tram bridge that connects to Queens is often out of service, making it difficult for residents who live on the island. When this happens they must take a circuitous route through Manhattan and then board another bus.
